What is it? Why do I need one?

When making double or even over triple the horsepower than what VW intended with the VR6 you will without a doubt run into some issues. One of the issues we faced was keeping the crank pulley fastened to the crankshaft. The extreme vibration caused from high RPM, high horsepower, coupled with a liquid filled crankshaft pulley from Fluidampr causes the pulley and crankshaft to vibrate a slightly different speeds. These irregularities in the crankshaft and crankshaft pulley, in time, will cause the crankshaft bolt to simply unfasten itself! Once this happens it damages the crankshaft and crankshaft pulley, not mention you loose your race!

SDM presents a solution for the VR6 VW Engine!

So what is a friction washer? A friction washer is simply a thin .005″, diamond coated washer, installed between the crankshaft pulley and crankshaft. This washer transmits up to 4x higher torques by increasing the grip from diamond material digging into the crankshaft as well as the crankshaft pulley. Get yours today and don’t risk an expensive crankshaft replacement from a pulley falling off!
